They say: "The success of a popular composer depends on his melody."
It is great privilege and honor to write great story about successful composer, accordionist, conductor and professor Semir Sammy Hasic. Composer's artistic talent, hard work and beautiful melody put him up there with only the best. He shined under big lights very early. He started a career in his teenage years. His wide repeortoire consists of his own musical accordion performances from Johan S. Bach to Sevdah. With very distinct career on movies and TV, many times award winning composer and humanist Mr. Hasic composed "Raphsody for Srebrenica" in which he has a voice against: war, violence, rape and killings with a powerful message: that war never happens again. Professor Hasic is inviting everybody to follow his musical journey via social medias: Facebook, Twitter, My Space and You tube. Mr. Hasic was born in City of Zenica, Bosnia. After completed High School of Music in Zenica, he then went to capital city and there he attended Sarajevo Music Academy and earned dual degree: composing and conducting. After completed education in Bosnia, Mr. Hasic went to Germany to study for post secondary education and there he became University professor so that he can teach at any academy. For some time he held his own private school. Strong Bosnian spirit had and impact on his first compositions that started at early age. Throughout history Bosnians survived so many dictators and dictatorships who left the pieces from their culture in Bosnia that made influence on his compositions, so that in Bosnia you can listen Turkish music and Austrian waltz.
Professor's mom Samija has had very exquisite hearing and she always wanted to have at least one of her three children become musician. His younger sister is also talented for music. She plays flute. Mr. Hasic was born to be composer and musician. He knew at young age that he is gifted for music and he received so many awards at many concerts, humanitarian events and ceremonies. July 11th is the saddest date in Bosnian history. Srebrenica is the inexhaustable tear on Bosnian face. "Raphsody for Srebrenica" is very emotional composition and is sending powerful message and that is: to be remembered. In 1991. Mr. Hasic composed "Bosnia WHY?" and it can be found on CD's in over 100 countries around the world via Intermusic and that is the biggest news page for accordions. Right there he contributed with his call against: mass destruction, rape, killings and violence. Mr. Hasic attended many humanitarian concerts as well as concert "From Bach to Sevdah" concerts. "Raphsody for Srebrenica" is also a voice and call that war never happens again"-said Mr. Hasic. Germans are calling Mr. Hasic "Dez Mozart des Balkan" because he is doing his job always with smile on his face with so much virtuosity and easiness and as he said: "He is happy he has a gift from God." He said that his biggest award is his family: wife Ivana, son Benjamin, daugher Nika and is thankful for well being and for good health. Mr. Hasic is respected and well known artist around the world. He played in Paris, Zeneva, Switzerland, Istambul, Turkey, Rome Italy. There is intersesting composer's view on how would artists from another countries play sevdalinka and Bosnian music. You can tell from the titles of his own compositions like: Aida, My tears, Tornado, Raphsody for Srebrenica that he is the biggest peace ambassador. When I asked him to tell us what is his message. He replied: His own music and his own projects are speaking for him. He also said that one day he will have a concert in America and he says that his music will draw so much attention. Composer's musical contribution is his way of showing: tollerance, peace, respect and wish for more good things and not bad things in life.
