Gwinnett Woman Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide Attempt
A man shot the woman, then himself, Gwinnett County Police said Monday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Lawrenceville woman was dead and her husband in critical condition Monday after a shooting that police are describing as an attempted murder-suicide.
The shooting happened at about 5:40 a.m. on Bridge Walk Drive in Lawrenceville.
The victim was identified at Melissa Kelly, 43. Gwinnett County Police say they had been called to the home shared by Kelly and her husband, 53-year-old Alton Kelly, twice on Saturday over domestic disputes.

Police arrived at their residence, after a call reporting gunshots, to find them both unconscious. They were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where Melissa Kelly died and Alton Kelly remained in critical condition Monday afternoon.
Police said there were other family members in the home at the time of the shooting. None of them were injured and police do not believe anyone was involved in the shooting other than Alton Kelly.

Criminal charges against Alton Kelly may be forthcoming, police said.
