Door to Door carpet cleaning scam?

Just had a young guy come to my door, rather hastily and offered a one time promotional deal to clean my carpets with some new dry foam cleaner.  He was driving a white SUV of some kind and was not the only one in the vehicle.  He asked to see my carpet.  I refused to let him in.  Thank goodness my dog never stopped barking!
