Dozens Of Gwinnett Roads Closed After Hurricane Irma

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Dozens of Gwinnett County roadways remained closed Tuesday afternoon in the wake of downed trees and power lines and flooding caused by storms associated with Hurricane Irma.
As of 1:30 p.m., there were 39 roads closed, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Elsewhere in Gwinnett County, court proceedings were canceled Tuesday, while other government services, including the tax commissioner's office, were open during normal business hours. County senior centers were open, but there was not transportation to them available.

All Gwinnett County public library branches and offices were closed. Solid waste services were canceled for Tuesday. Gwinnett County Transit canceled express service and delayed the start of local and paratransit service until 10 a.m.
Gwinnett Transit is scheduled to resume normal service on Wednesday.
