Dump Truck Flips, Driver Injured In Gwinnett
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in Buford, causing the roadway to be temporarily blocked.
BUFORD, GA — Thompson Mill Road in Buford was temporarily blocked Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck overturned near the roadway.
Firefighters responded at 3:34 p.m. to a report of a dump truck that had flipped over in the 3500 block of Thompson Mill Road, near West Rock Quarry Road in Buford. Crews arrived to find the driver conscious and breathing.
He was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the truck was carrying a load of sand when it went off of the road and overturned. The fire department's Hazmat Unit was called in to stop a slight fuel leak from a saddle tank on the truck.
The scene was turned over to Gwinnett County Police to investigate the accident.
