Enjoy Hudgen's Two New Exhibitions and Shop at Makers Market!

On Saturday, December 4th Visit Hudgen's Makers Market and Shop for Holiday Gifts!

There are 16 cities and 16 library branches in Gwinnett County. Every city has post offices, schools and restaurants, but not every city has beautiful Museum and Art Gallery called "Hudgen's Musem for the Art" located at City of Duluth, worth visiting year round.

At the moment there are two exhibitions right now at the Hudgen's Museum of Art and both of them are worth visiting. Both of them have one thing in common. They are both modern sculpture art with contemporary and abstract notes. The exhibitions will last until January 22nd 2022.

As you enter this great place and shiny sculptures walk you inside and you are instantly amazed with this wonderful yet modern art. These silver polished sculptures made of steel are wonderful creations of well known artist Gregory Johnson. All his creations are really beautiful, but few of them really stand out. There is wonderful three-dimensional shiny, silver sculpture of Tree of Life. Then there is another great creation called Queue which artist made it really interesting to viewers because in it you see yourself in ever changing light from sunlight to evening glow. Then there is also great sculpture worth mention and worth of our attention and it can't be unnoticed and that is sculpture of God of Romans' which represents great health and well being.

I was interested to see yet another of Mr. Johnson's creations and it is called "Modern Peach" but if found its place in front of CNN's Headquarter building in Georgia's capital. In one of his interviews when Mr. Johnson was asked where he god this inspirations, he replied that he gets inspirations everywhere from first hand to lots of travel experiences. There was one key moment that made Mr. Johnson become great and respected artist and that was when his tutor told him: "Make what you see, not what you know." Mr. Johnson knew in early age that he has a great gift.

As you walk down this great museum, on your left there is also another great wearable sculpture art. This modern sculpture art is are creations from Ms. Charity Harris, Southerner lady who has Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University.

Ms. Harris found out very young that he has a gift for wearable art made from second hand to new textiles. Those wonderful dresses I saw were absolutely wonderful. There is one bubbly black dress that is so unique and I thought this would be perfect dress for New Year's Eve party.

During these days when people are busy shopping for Holiday gifts, find some time and visit these two exhibitions, they are really worth and all artists need our support.

When you thought you saw all the beauty this great place has to offer, there is also little outside garden you really have to see. Around all those outside art scuptures there are beautiful trees and little pond all covered with beautiful Autumn leaves: red and light brown colors.

My overall experience after visiting this place is just simply amazing. I fed my soul and my brain with great, higher level, contemporary, abstract art and makes me want to go back over and over again to enjoy art.

On a way out there is friendly reminder that tomorrow, Saturday, December 4th 2021 there is going to be great event called "Makers Market" where visitors can shop for little, unique gifts for loved ones for Holiday season and it is going to be from 10 am to 4 pm at Hudgen's Museum of Art.
