Ex-Member Of Gwinnett Vets Organization Charged With Stealing Funds
Gwinnett County authorities say a former quartermaster used funds belonging to a veterans association for personal use.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A former quartermaster is facing theft charges after authorities say he used veterans funds for personal use in Gwinnett County.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said they have arrested William Schultz after receiving a tip concerning misuse of funds belonging to the Central Gwinnett Veterans Association. Schultz was arrested on May 29.
As quartermaster of the CGVA, authorities said Schultz was tasked with finance management, bill pay and making purchases on behalf of the association, authorities said.

Schultz was accused of writing four checks to himself, which authorities said he masked as loans, and taking money from the association's funds for personal use.
He has been arrested on charges of four counts of theft by taking and one count of theft by taking, authorities said.
