Find Your Free Doughnut on National Donut Day
Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme in Gwinnett County are handing out freebies on Friday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- National Donut Day is Friday and in honor of their big day, doughnut shops across the nation— including many in Gwinnett County — will hand out free doughnuts to customers.
With many locations in the area, Dunkin' Donuts is on board with the holiday.
They say that they'll hand out one free doughnut of your choice "while supplies last" with the purchase of a beverage. (Could Dunkin' Donuts ever really run out of doughnuts?) Find your nearest store using their restaurant locator.

The holiday itself, always celebrated on the first Friday of June, was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.
The Salvation Army this year is teaming up with baking company Entenmann's to help celebrate National Donut Day; Entenmann's will donate proceeds from sales and offer customers a chance to win free doughnuts for a year, by entering a contest on its Facebook page. Entenmann's doughnuts can be found at area grocery stores.
