Investigators on the scene throughout the day included the FBI and ATF, but in an afternoon statement, GGC President Stas Preczewski said no evidence of an explosive device was found and that investigators believed a build-up of gases in a sewer line may have been to blame.

Early Tuesday, some students, faculty and staff may have briefly experienced a bit of a scare.

At about 9:10 a.m., an electrical outlet shorted in Building B -- where some classes from Building A had been moved -- triggering an alarm.

The building was evacuated, but cleared by Gwinnett County Fire officials for re-entry by 9:30 a.m.
