Get to Know the Apple of Our Eye
Primrose School of Five Forks honors Mrs. Jeny Thomas-Rahman as the Apple of Our Eye for the month of April!

Mrs. Thomas-Rahman is a teacher in the Preschool Pathways classroom. She and her husband, Zahir have two children, Mahiya and Xorion and a family cat, Simba. Mrs. T and her family recently moved to Atlanta from New York, and they miss their family and friends back home very much. They love to travel, especially road trips, and enjoy trying different foods and restaurants. They also enjoy cooking as a family and Friday nights are family movie night.
Mrs. T was born and raised in Southern India and can speak three Indian languages. She came to New York with her parents after 10th grade. She has always loved the idea of teaching since she was a little girl, but considered going into law. In her junior year of high school, one of her teachers asked her to help tutor a student that was falling behind. The gratitude she received from the student when his grades picked up made her realize the impact she could make as a teacher and now she is following that passion.
She has been tutoring students ever since her junior year of high school. She has tutored kids of all ages, Pre-K to college, in all subjects, mostly math since she loves numbers. She babysat for family and friends up until she had her own children. She has also been a Sunday school teacher for almost 15 years. She has a dual Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Education with a minor in accounting from State University of New York at Old Westbury.

Mrs. T is always interested in learning new things; however the interest seems to be short lived. The only steady hobby she has from childhood is reading as long as it is not too serious or educational. Her favorites are short stories and mysteries. An interest from childhood that she has started to nurture in the recent years, and now has become her passion, is henna art. She is in the process of making it more than just a hobby and has recently acquired her certification as a natural henna artist. Mrs. T is a strong advocate for natural henna.
She came to Primrose School of Five Forks to tour as a parent for her son after having had toured over ten schools. None were to her satisfaction, until she came to our school and fell in love. She walked out of the tour with an application for her son and herself. She said this has turned out to be a great place for both of them!
