Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Honors Symphony Orchestra and Chorus

On September 11 the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra & Chorus will perform a benefit concert: 'America: A Tribute to the Patriots of 9/11.'

GWINNETT COUNTY – At the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners meeting Tuesday, September 6, 2016, Chairman Charlotte Nash presented a proclamation from the Board to the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra & Chorus recognizing both their 20th year anniversary and their philanthropic spirit in their upcoming concert.

On Sunday, September 11th, GSOC will begin their 20th year performing a benefit concert, “AMERICA: A Tribute to the Patriots of 9/11” at 2:00 P.M. at the Infinite Energy Theater.

Representing GSOC in receipt of the proclamation presented by Chairman Nash (far right) were (left to right) Rick Smith, artistic director & conductor; Shirley House, Board Treasurer; Pam Cook, Board Chair.

Proceeds from the concert and gala that follows will benefit three non-profit organizations: Care for Cops, Georgia Fallen Firefighters Foundation, and Operation Homefront. The concert and gala entertainment will feature ensembles and artists including the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, Gwinnett Symphony Chorus, Gwinnett Symphony Wind Orchestra, Gwinnett Symphony Jazz Orchestra, guest conductor Dr. Sergey Bogza, and singer, Curtis Reed.

Concert only tickets are $15 each; and concert plus gala tickets are $50 each.
