Marian Barilone, DTM, Gwinnett County resident, is the District Director of District 14 Toastmasters in GA. She is the first Filipino-American to hold this distinct honor of leading 128 clubs with over 2,000 members. She has the responsibility of directly overseeing and managing the district’s day-to-day operations, finances, and human resources. She leads a team of district leaders called the Senior Seven, Division Directors and Area Directors to help her fulfill these responsibilities and she works to empower the district leadership team to work together toward the district mission, while supporting each other as fellow Toastmasters and leaders. Her focus for the 2022-2023 Toastmaster Year is “Engaged to Excel.”

Marian’s District service started in 2013. She was awarded President’s Distinguished Area Director. When she served as Division Director, she was recognized as Division Director of the Month 4 times. As Club Growth Director, Marian and her Club Extension/District 14 Champions Team chartered 12 new clubs despite the transition to virtual meetings! Even with the loss of several corporate clubs, Marian’s work brought District 14 back to 140 clubs last July 2020. District 14 was the District with the most number of clubs chartered for the month of April 2021, earning the District top rank among the Districts in Region 8. When she served as Program Quality Director last year, she led the District to Distinguished with 60 clubs achieving Distinguished status and will receive the Excellence in Program Quality award on August 18, 2022.
