At about 11 a.m. on December 16, 2014, Medious forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home. She found him walking down a hallway shouting obscenities, at which point he choked and punched her.
He continued attacking her, forcing her first into her son's bedroom then into the living room, before forcing her into her bedroom and sexually assaulting her. He continued to beat and sexually assault her for three hours.

After the attack, Medious made his victim help him fix the front door he damaged while breaking in. He forced her into her vehicle and drove her to an apartment maintenance shed, where he stole a hammer.
Medious allowed his victim to go pick up her son while he stayed at the residence to fix the door. When her son saw her injuries, he called 911.
Medious had previously been charged with battery for assaulting the same victim in March 2014. He was taken into custody the day after the September attack and made several conflicting statements, including saying that the victim was his girlfriend and that they had a loving relationship.
He went back and forth on his story about the day of the attack before eventually telling police that he and the victim had consensual sex and then an unknown person attacked her.
While incarcerated awaiting his trial, Medious sent several letters to the victim describing different ways she could have the charges dropped. He suggested multiple stories for her to tell and offered money for her to change her story.
Medious already is serving a life sentence for an incident that happened while he was in custody. He was convicted of three counts of aggravated sodomy against another inmate.
Judge Ronnie Batchelor presided over the trial and assistant district attorney Angela Mattozzi prosecuted the case.
