Gwinnett Man Murdered Girlfriend In Alabama: Police
A 22-year-old Lawrenceville woman was found shot to death in a hotel room in Decatur, Alabama, police say.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Gwinnett County man is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in an Alabama hotel room.
At about noon on Saturday, Decatur, Alabama police officers responded to a report of a deceased person at a Quality Inn hotel there. Once there, they found the body of a woman later identified as Tiara Cole, 22, of Lawrenceville.
She had been shot, according to police.

Speaking with Cole's family, police learned that she had traveled to Alabama with Carey Davis, Jr., of Norcross. They put out an all-points bulletin to other law enforcement agencies to search for Davis's car, a 2003 Toyota Camry.
At about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office reported that they'd stopped the vehicle. They arrested Davis on unrelated charges of theft by receiving and loitering and Davis "immediately invoked his right to counsel due to his involvement in an altercation in Decatur, AL," police said.

Davis currently is being held in Gwinnett County on a $250,000 bond awaiting extradition to Alabama, where he will face a murder charge.
