Gwinnett Police Seeking Woman Who Stole, Burned Car
Authorities say woman in a white hoodie exited a black SUV and took the car, which was left running and unlocked at a Lawrenceville QT.

Lawrenceville, GA --Â Authorities are still seeking a woman they say stole a Chevy Impala from a Lawrenceville gas station, drove it away and almost immediately set it on fire.
New details have surfaced in the incident, which happened Monday, November 30, at the QuickTrip convenience store on West Pike Street and Hwy. 316 in Lawrenceville.
Surveillance video shows a black SUV pulling into the parking lot of a neighboring hotel and two people getting out. The suspect, a woman wearing a white hoodie, heads toward the QT, while a passenger gets into the driver’s seat of the SUV.

Footage then shifts to a surveillance camera at QuickTrip, which shows a police car exiting the store’s parking lot. The woman seems spooked by the police car and turns around, but then heads toward the gas pumps after it leaves.
Earlier video showed her get into the car, a white, 2005 Chevy Impala, and drive off. The owner of the car had reportedly gone into the store to pay, leaving the engine running and the doors unlocked. It was about 10:11 p.m.

The car was found less than 15 minutes later, engulfed in flames in a nearby neighborhood.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded at 10:24 p.m. to the fire on the 300 block of Waterbury Drive, about five miles from the QuickTrip.
The suspect, or suspects, in the case face felony charges of auto-theft and first-degree arson.

Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.
