Gwinnett Tech Earns Top Early-Childhood Teaching Accreditation
The Lawrenceville college got high marks from the National Association For the Education of Young Children.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA β The Early Childhood Care and Education program at Gwinnett Technical College has earned high marks from a national sanctioning body.
The program was awarded full accreditation by the National Association For the Education of Young Children's accrediting commission.
The college, in Lawrenceville, was one of just three institutions to receive a first-time accreditation during the most recent evaluation cycle.

Accreditation from NAEYC is considered the highest mark of quality for programs that teach early childhood education at the associate degree level.
The process includes extensive self-study, submission of a self-study report, a site visit conducted by a peer review team, and an accreditation decision made by a national commission of early childhood professionals.

"We are very proud of this accomplishment," said Jane Day Hyche, director of Gwinnett Tech's early childhood education program. "This is yet other big validator that Gwinnett Tech students are the best of the best when they graduate from our program."
In addition to offering an associates degree program, Gwinnett Tech also offers certificates in Child Development Specialist, Early Childhood Care and Education Basics, Early Childhood Exceptionalities, and Early Childhood Program Administration.
Top jobs graduates from this program pursue include elementary school paraprofessionals, teachers assistants, Head Start teachers, private sector preschool and kindergarten teachers, early childhood program management directors, child care center directors and more.
In all, there are 169 institutions in the United States that have received the accreditation.
