Gwinnett Tech To Hold Graduation May 16

Ceremonies will be at the Infinite Energy Center

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- Gwinnett Technical College will kick off 2016 graduation season on Monday, May 16.

College President D. Glen Cannon will confer hundreds of degrees, diplomas and certificates to students from both the college's Lawrenceville and Alpharetta-North Fulton campuses.

The ceremonies will start at 7:30 p.m. and take place at the Infinite Energy Arena, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, in Duluth.

Students from across the metro-Atlanta area will come together to celebrate the successful completion of their studies at Gwinnett Tech, which offers more than 150 degree, diploma and certificate programs.

The college is expecting nearly 1,500 graduates and to confer more than 3,000 awards for the 2015-16 academic year.

About 600 students are expected to walk during the May 16 graduation ceremonies.

Gretchen Corbin, commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia, will be the keynote speaker.

Lydia Holland, the 2016 Gwinnett Tech GOAL winner, and Angelia Esquivel, Gwinnett Tech's 2016 Distinguished Student, will speak on behalf of the graduates.

Gwinnett Technical College has been providing career-focused education and training for the region for more than 30 years. Gwinnett Tech is the state’s third-largest technical college, serving more than 18,000 students annually.
