Gwinnett Tree-Lighting Set for Thursday Evening

More than 30,000 lights will blink on during the Thanksgiving tradition.

More than 30,000 lights will blink to life Thursday at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville.

The 28th Annual Lighting of the Tree is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, with a lighting ceremony set to begin at 6 p.m.

Entertainment will include Christmas caroling, led by the Class Act Band, and performances by Cheyenne Knight, Katie Wolf and the Buford High School Theater Club. Food vendors will be on hand.

For the kids, there will be face-painting, hair-styling and crafts starting at 5:30 p.m., as well as a visit from Santa.

The tree is a 30-foot Norway spruce.
