Gwinnett Woman Gets No Jail Time For Killing Boyfriend

Noelle Gretzinger and friend Jennifer Schoeppler were charged with first-degree vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A Gwinnett County woman and her friend will avoid jail time for their involvement in the motor-vehicle death of her boyfriend, a judge ruled.

Noelle Gretzinger and Jennifer Schoeppler were sentenced to five years of probation in the 2014 death of Brandon Gaylor, the AJC reports.

The two had faced charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, racing, speeding, hit and run and tampering with evidence.

Gretzinger and Schoeppler entered what are called "Alford pleas" last week. An Alford plea lets a defendant maintain their innocence, but admit that a guilty plea is in their best interest.

Gretzinger, Schoeppler, Gaylor and two other people were reportedly racing on Duncan Creek Road in Gwinnett County when Gaylor slowed his motorcycle down outside his Buford home.

Schoeppler hit Gaylor, knocking him off of his motorcycle, and then Gretzinger hit him while he was on the ground.

Then, the two tried to hide Gretzinger's car before police arrived.

Gaylor's family was upset by the sentences.

β€œI want them to have time to think about what they have done,” Donnie Gaylor told WSB-TV.
