Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Meeting Scheduled For Gwinnett

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA β The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management will conduct an orientation meeting on July 13 for the public and stakeholders on its upcoming Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
Attendees will receive an overview of the hazard mitigation planning process and can offer recommendations on issues to be included in the update. The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires five-year updates to the plan to be eligible for federal funding for planning and capital projects to address problems covered in the plan, such as flooding.
The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management is a unit of the Gwinnett County Police Department and handles tasks such as planning for emergencies and disasters, coordinating responses to incidents, directing hazard mitigation, and assisting Gwinnett County Government and its residents in recovery after an incident.

The orientation meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Dr., Lawrenceville Conference room C.
