Hit And Run Driver Arrested: Gwinnett County Police

A woman was arrested Thursday after Gwinnett Police identified an SUV and the driver, they say, hit a motorcyclist, causing serious injury.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A woman was arrested Thursday after Gwinnett County Police Department deputies identified an SUV and the driver, they say, hit a motorcyclist, causing serious injury, and then ran from the scene. The incident happened on Dickens Road at Pepperwood Trail.

Luisa Hernandez, 49, from Norcross, was arrested and charged with felony hit and run and tampering with evidence

On April 13, the lead detective received a tip in reference a vehicle believed to have been involved in this case. The vehicle was located by the detective and taken to headquarters for inspection. The damage pattern was confirmed. The detective spoke with the driver of the vehicle and she was ultimately arrested.

On March 31 Gwinnett police found the motorcyclist had sustained serious and life threatening injuries and was unconscious. No other vehicles were located on scene. During the investigation, multiple pieces of a tail light and window glass were located near the motorcycle.
