Hundreds Attend Gwinnett Medical Center's 'Heart Healthy Event'

"Take a Pledge for a Healthy Heart" hosted by GMC was a great success.

Hundreds of community members gathered at the "Take a Pledge for a Healthy Heart" event on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Gwinnett Center.

This event, hosted by Gwinnett Medical Center, was a celebration of the new Strickland Heart Center and a gesture of thanks for those in the community who donated their time and money to the development of GMC's new heart and vascular center. The Strickland Heart Center is a 40,000-square-foot facility that provides the area with advanced cardiovascular services including open heart surgery, state-of-the-art operating rooms and cardiac catheterization labs.

“This event allows us to express our gratitude to the community for supporting Gwinnett Medical Center while we raised awareness of the need, as well as funding, for a heart and vascular center right here in Gwinnett.” said Dolores Ware, director of Marketing and Community Relations at GMC. “The Gwinnett community was here for us when we needed their support and now we are here to return the favor and show our appreciation."
