I am a Muslim American & America Is My Country

America is my county. It is the land of freedom of religion and speech. It’s hard for me to gather my thoughts as I read the countless stories of fear and hate post election. We have become a divided nation. Surely, this is not the America my parents immigrated to eighteen years ago. I am fearful for my country and the people living in it whether they are White, Black, Hispanic, Muslim, or any other race and religion. My fears set aside I still believe there is hope for our nation. However little hope it may be, together is how we can move forward.

Hilary Clinton bravely said Mr. Trump deserves an open mind and a chance to lead. I therefore, urge my fellow Americans that instead of bashing Mr. Trump, we need to stand united and fight for what is just. We cannot become weak. We cannot stay quiet. We cannot and will not let hate trump love.
