Intruder Shot In Home Invasion Identified: Gwinnett Police
The Gwinnett County Police Department has identified an intruder who was shot and killed during a home invasion Monday morning.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Gwinnett County Police Department has identified an intruder who was shot and killed during a home invasion Monday morning at 850 Cainbridge Drive, in Lawrenceville. The police are still seeking the identity of the other two suspects that were involved.
The dead, alleged intruder has been identified as Jerrod Terrell Powell , 20. He was found outside the residence after police were dispatched to investigate gun shots shortly before 3 a.m. The homeowner was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg.
Officers acted quickly and applied a tourniquet to the homeowner's leg. The homeowner said that while sleeping he heard the backdoor crash in and he went to investigate the noise. The homeowner, who was armed, encountered three men. Gunfire was exchanged inside of the home and the three men fled the scene.
