Lanes on Interstate 85 Closed For Construction This Weekend

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Several lanes along Interstate 85 will be shut down this weekend for construction, the Georgia Department of Transportation has announced.

Weather permitting, there will be construction going on that causes the following lane closures this weekend:

• On I-85, one northbound lane will be closed just before the I-985 interchange and along I-985 through the interchange from Friday at 9 p.m. until Saturday at 5 p.m.
• On I-85, one northbound lane will be closed past the Ga. 20 interchange from Friday at 9 p.m. until Saturday at 5 a.m.
• On I-85, one southbound lane will be closed before and after the Ga. 20 interchange from Friday at 9 p.m. until Saturday at 5 a.m.

The DOT encourages motorists to call 511, visit 511ga.org , or check the 511 Georgia and Atlanta Traffic app before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
