Lawrenceville Housing Authority seeking volunteers for Summer Lunch Program!

Hello! The Lawrenceville Housing Authority is running a new Summer Lunch Program, sponsored through the USDA. The "Summer Food Service Program" was created to provide nutritious meals to children who would typically receive free or reduced meals during the school year. Unfortunately, only 1 in 6 eligible children participate in this program - so LHA is working to change that! We have over 200 children who live inΒ LHA communities throughout Lawrenceville, and we want to make this program a success. We are requesting volunteers to help serve the lunches this summer, Monday-Friday from 11-2pm. Volunteers will need to attend a 45-min training to learn about the program and will need to pass a criminal background check to work with children. We would love to have the community involved in this program! In addition, children who are not LHA residents are also more than welcome to receive a free lunch each day. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering with us this summer, please contact Elizabeth Buckle, LHA's Community Outreach Coordinator at 770-963-4900 x202 or by email at Elizabeth@LHAinfo.com

Thank you so much for your support!
