Local Charity Fundraiser for Sexually Abused Children

One in three girls and one in five boys will be victims’ of sexual abuse before they turn 18, according to The Journal of Adolescent Health.1

Local Atlanta charity, Defined with Purpose, is focused on the recovery process for children survivors of rape and sexual assault.

Defined with Purpose (DWP), is hosting its 4th Annual "The Secret's Out" Fashion Show and Silent Auction at the Mason Fine Art Gallery at 8 PM on November 15, 2019. The tickets cost $60.

DWP's most significant fundraising function, "The Secret's Out" Fashion Show and Silent Auction, connects the world of mentorship, therapy, and healing to a proud environment for victims and their supporters. The proceeds from the happy night of fashion and fun are specifically for the DWP workshops, one-on-one therapy, and legal fees for children impacted by sexual assault.

Founder and Professional Model, Crysta Marshall, created DWP after her three-year-old daughter was a victim of child molestation. As a result, she is able to understand the daunting and expensive healing process.

Marshall has said, "We want to open the discussion on child molestation and sexual abuse, so victim's and their families have a safe space to heal. Yes, sexual abuse may have happened, rape may have happened, but this program teaches the victim's that they are so much more than their trauma."

The Fashion Show and Silent Auction are about celebrating the victim's ability to heal and freedom to live their lives despite the circumstances that have brought the DWP family together.
