Man Barricaded in Motel Room Was Not There When SWAT Arrived

A SWAT standoff in Gwinnett County Monday afternoon ended with the suspect getting away.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported a man thought to be barricaded in a motel room was not there when the sheriff's office SWAT team entered.

Lawrenceville Police Capt. Greg Vaughn said police were serving a warrant on a man at an extended-stay motel on Pike Street, where he apparently barricaded himself in the room. The suspect's name was not released.
