Man Guilty of Slamming Girlfriend Head-First Into the Ground

She had accused him of cheating and possibly giving her V.D., Gwinnett County prosecutors said.

A Gwinnett man was found guilty of seriously injuring his girlfriend by slamming her head-first into the ground after she accused him of cheating on her.

The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release Friday that Kenneth Terrelle Moreman was found guilty by jury on two counts of aggravated battery in the Oct. 30, 2013 incident. He was sentenced Friday to 20 years, to serve the first eight years in prison.

Moreman was listed with a Lawrenceville address in Gwinnett County jail records.

Prosecutors said Moreman, who is 6-foot-2, picked up his 5-foot-2 girlfriend and threw her to the ground after she confronted him about his infidelity. She accused him of cheating on her and possibly giving her a sexually transmitted disease.

The injury caused her brain to bleed and required eight staples, the news release stated. The girlfriend also suffered a broken middle finger which required stitches.

Assistant District Attorney Dwayne Brown presented the case in front of the Judge George Hutchinson III.
