Masked Man Robs Gwinnett Gas Station At Gunpoint

LILBURN, GA — Police are searching for a robber who held a handgun to the head of a Gwinnett County gas station clerk and escaped with almost $1,000 in cash.

The robbery happened May 18 at about 10 p.m. at the Mobile gas station at 925 Indian Trail Rd. in Lilburn.

According to Gwinnett County Police, the robber walked into the store and pulled out a black and silver, semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk. A brief struggle took place between the two, police said.

Ultimately, the robber was able to steal money from the register before running away.

During the robbery, the thief's face was covered, but police are hoping a member of the public will recognize him, perhaps from the unique black and red jacket he was wearing.

He is described as a black male, between 25-35 years old, standing 5'7" to 5'10" and weighing somewhere between 145-175 pounds.
