Meet Emina Pelja founder of Balkan Bred!

Balkan Bred is the bridge that connects diaspora with motherland!

What is the difference between Balkan bread and Balkan Bred? The difference is that Balkan bread is the most delicious bread in the world and Balkan Bred is the name of online shopping company, founded by young enthusiast named Emina Pelja, Bosnian native who resides in City of Atlanta, Georgia. Emina's story is very inspirational and interesting because as very young lady, she came up with idea of American dream. Ms. Pelja earned the Degree in Marketing at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. The idea of inventing and starting own business was born when she was a student at this University. "The begging was not easy" says Ms. Pelja, but her persistence, family support, support from many friends she met during her schooling, made her fulfill her dream. Balkan Bred is the online store that sells so many different items like T-shirts that have names of Bosnian cities for example on them plus with their coordinates. Besides sweatshirts, Balkan Bred also sells: hats, jewelry, coffee mugs and so much more. All these items found and available for sale on her website www.balkanbred.com are Emina's transparent love for Bosnia and all countries in Balkan region. All these products have stories to tell and that is what is making them so interesting. For example, shirts not only have nam es of each city in Bosnia with coordinates too, then Emina's shirt says "But first bosanska kahva" which in Bosnian word kahva means coffee. Then, there are items that have sign on them like " I am here for palacinke" and palacinke is word for crepes.

So, what was the main reason for Emina's online business like this one? Emina was very thoughtful young lady who wanted to create a brand that will connect diaspora from all over the world with their motherland. Bosnian culture for example is very rich with very rich history, and all Bosnians want to have piece of home in their closets like the shirts that have name of the city they were born in. In other words, Emina created the bridge that connects diaspora with motherland with something valuable to all Bosnians and not just to Bosnians, but to all diaspora from Eastern Europe. As you can see on the photo Emina's shirt says: "But first bosanska kahva" which is very interesting because Bosnians love their morning coffee strong yet delicious with milk or without and that is part of our culture. As I said earlier our culture is very rich and we all want to have piece of home like a souvenir in our homes. For now Emina's business in only online, but it would be nice to see her store in one of the malls and shop right there while sharing Bosnian stories. In every photo you will see Emina's beautiful smile. Her motto is to work with laughter and love what you do with heart because in the end that is all that matters.
