National Beer Day: The Best Beer Joints In Gwinnett County

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — It's National Beer Day, folks. So, if you're looking for an excuse to hoist a cold one — you know ... other than it being Friday — there you have it.

National Beer Day falls on April 7, the anniversary of the day, in 1933, that the Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect.

Several months before Prohibition would be fully repealed, the act, signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, legalized the sale of low-alcohol beer.

The act allowed beer with alcohol by volume as high as 4 percent. But in bars and taverns throughout Gwinnett County, you're free to enjoy high-gravity brews as well as more traditional ones.
