New Playground, Other Renovations Complete At Gwinnett Park
Tribble Mill Park got a new playground, a plaza and other upgrades with money from the county's special-purpose local option sales tax.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A park in Lawrenceville has a new playground, plaza, sidewalks and other features after its renovations were recently completed.
The renovations at Tribble Mill Park were funded by Gwinnett County's 2009 special-purpose local option sales tax.
They include new playground equipment, a new plaza, seat walls a shade shelter and landscaping at the festival field, according to Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation. The project also added a new small playground, a bench swing, accessible sidewalk and pedestrian bridges between the Oak and Maple pavilions.

The nature-themed playground features climbing boulders and logs. The festival field playground also received new equipment, with ramps and several handicap accessible feature added.
The playground features several challenging climbing features and two new multi-generational swings.

"Playgrounds play an important role in the development of a child’s cognitive, emotional, physical
and social development," Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation said in a news release. "GCPR believes that playing is the vehicle for exploring and learning, developing new skills and connecting with others. Parks are a place of community, and an important contributor to the environment and health of Gwinnett’s residents."
Tribble Mill Park is located at 2125 Tribble Mill Pkwy. in Lawrenceville.
