Police: Convenience Store Armed Robber Hid In The Drink Cooler

The store's clerk heard glass breaking around the cooler while cleaning up the store.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Lawrenceville Police are looking for an armed robber they say hid in the drink cooler of a convenience store before robbing it earlier this month.

On February 4, police were called at about 11:41 p.m. to the Shell gas station at 256 Hurricane Shoals Rd.

The clerk told officers that, while cleaning the store, the sound of glass breaking could be heard near the cooler. Then, a man emerged from the cooler holding a handgun.

The clerk was forced at gunpoint to the cash register, where the robber took money and other miscellaneous items.

The man then ran away, police said.
