Police: Man Stole Walmart Donation Bin, Returned to Cash in Coins
The money was to go to the Children's Miracle Network.
Police are looking for a brazen thief who was captured on surveillance video stealing a charity collection container at a Gwinnett County Walmart then returning to the store to cash in the coins.
Lawrenceville Police released the video to WSB-TV that showed the suspect picking up the bin and walking out the front doors around 10:30 p.m. on April 3.
The money collected was to go to the Children’s Miracle Network.

The video also showed the man come back into the store and exchange the coins at a CoinStar machine.
The cash stolen amounted to $106, WSB reported.

“He’s taking from sick children and their families, so it’s sad,” Lawrenceville PD Capt. Greg Vaughn told the TV station.
