No charges have been filed against the shooter, according to Gwinnett Police.

Lawrenceville, GA -- A man who repeatedly shoved a 95-year-old woman was shot Monday in a dispute at a storage facility in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County police say no charges have been filed against the shooter, and that the man who was shot was reportedly acting strangely before the incident at Public Storage, at 1907 Riverside Pkwy.

The man who was shot was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

The shooting took place at about 1 p.m. on Monday.

According to a police news release, a family of three -- the 95-year-old woman and a son and daughter both in their 60’s -- were moving property at the storage facility when a man they didn’t know parked beside them.

The family told police the man “began exhibiting suspicious behavior” like pacing back and forth and staring at them.

The man and the family ended up in a verbal argument, during which the mother tried to calm the situation down. That’s when the man, described as being in his 20s, allegedly shoved her several times.

Police say her son got a handgun and asked the man to leave the family alone. When the man advanced toward the son, police say, he shot him in the torso, acting in self-defense.

Police detectives said late Monday they currently have no plans to charge the shooter with any crime, though they still intend to interview the man who was shot and other witnesses.
