ICYMI: Police Standoff Ends With Lawrenceville Man's Arrest
No one was injured during the standoff, during which police say the suspect hid in an attic.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A Lawrenceville man wanted on gun and battery charges was arrested Monday after a two-hour standoff with police.
At about 3 p.m., Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County Police attempted to serve an arrest warrant for Tyrone Porter, 27, at 707 Windy Hill Point.
Porter was wanted on charges of battery and parole violation stemming from gun charges out of Illinois. Police say he has an "extensive criminal history."

Porter did not comply with requests to surrender and crawled into an attic space inside of the apartment, police said.
Police also encountered at least four children, ages 5-10, and at least one other adult inside the apartment.

Gwinnett County Police SWAT teams responded and, as a precaution, officers evacuated adjacent apartments and established a perimeter.
Ultimately, Porter surrendered and was taken into custody. No shots were fired during the standoff and no one was injured.
