Rape Suspect Wanted In Gwinnett

The suspect is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Lawrenceville on April 1.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County Police are seeking a suspect accused of raping a woman in Lawrenceville.

Leo Escudero-Olivares, 30, is wanted on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery.

On April 1, police say, Escudero-Olivares raped a woman he knew at a home in Lawrenceville. The woman escaped the home the following morning and met with Gwinnett police officers, telling them that he had physically and sexually assaulted her.

The case was transferred to a SVU detective and arrest warrants were obtained.
