Security Raised, Student Out After Peachtree Ridge Violence Threat
The student made threats against the school on social media and those threats were reported to school officials on Wednesday.

SUWANEE, GA — Security was ramped up and a student was out of school Thursday at Peachtree Ridge High School, after officials say the student made online threats aimed at the school.
In a letter to parents, Peachtree Ridge Principal Jeff Mathews said the school notified police, who spoke to the student and family Wednesday night.
"We take these kinds of threats very seriously and there will be consequences for the student," Mathews said in the letter, which was sent out Thursday morning. "Although this situation was addressed before school began this morning and this student is not at school we will have an increased police presence on campus this morning."
