Shot Fired During Robbery Attempt at Lawrenceville KFC
The suspect didn't get any money from what police say was an attempt to rob the restaurant.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA -- A man walked into the kitchen of a Lawrenceville KFC restaurant and fired a shot into the floor in an apparent robbery attempt, according to police.
Gwinnett County Police officers were called to the KFC at 4776 Sugarloaf Pkwy. at about 6:10 p.m. on December 23, according to a news release.
Witnesses said a man had asked to use the restroom. When he came back out, he pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and walked into the restaurant’s kitchen, firing a shot into the floor as he approached employees.

The employees ran away through a back door and the suspect eventually left without stealing anything. Police believe it was a robbery attempt gone wrong.
