Suspect Arrested In Decades-Old Rape Cold Case In Gwinnett
Lawrenceville Police say they have arrested a man accused in a string of sexual assaults from 40 years ago.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A man has been arrested in connection with a series of rapes 40 years ago in Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County, police said Wednesday.
Authorities arrested Glenn Daniel Plybon on Wednesday morning at his Oglethorpe County home in connection with a string of rapes in the summer 1986, Lawrenceville Police said.
After the sexual assault of multiple women in their apartments, police said the suspect fled each scene before officers arrived.

At the time, investigators say they uncovered several similarities between the cases. Police said this included the entry method and the suspect's physical description.
Decades passed, and the cases went unresolved until they were reopened in 2025, police said. After resubmission of evidence and modern analysis, police said they were able to identify Plybon as a suspect.

There were no jail records for Plybon as of Wednesday afternoon.
