Ms. Destini Long is an Assistant Teacher in the Junior Explorer classroom and Mrs. Kase’s Kindergarten Assistant during the school year. She joined the Primrose team in September of this school year and we are so happy that she did! Ms. Long lives with her mom (Nishell), Stepdad (Terrence), and her younger sister, Eboni. She has a beta fish named Trixie, and a very special dog who still lives with us in spirit named Coco (he sadly passed in October, but she would still love for him to be recognized).

Ms. Long was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She and her family made the move to Duluth, GA in 2005. Once in GA, Ms. Long attended Norcross Elementary, followed by Pinckneyville Middle School, and Norcross High School, where she graduated in May of 2015.

Ms. Long’s experience with children reaches back to her adolescence when she enjoyed babysitting younger family members. She volunteered her time at Norcross Elementary for four years doing community service hours after school. She helped out in various kindergarten classrooms, aiding the lead teacher with everyday activities. She also had the privilege of being an assistant to the art teacher, making sure the afternoon art classes ran smoothly. Eventually, during her junior year of high school, she was able to experience a little bit of the childcare lifestyle as she watched over children at her local church during bible study nights. She juggled this side “gig” as a part time nanny for a family friend throughout the remainder of her high school career.

Ms. Long’s interests include drawing and painting in her art journal and planting beautiful plants for her garden. A recent hobby of has been working out on a weekly basis. During her downtime, she enjoys watching YouTube videos in bed. Her goal is to become a first-grade teacher in the public-school system. She would eventually love to receive her certificate in Art Education and become an Art Teacher for public school electives (specials).

We are so happy to have Ms. Destini Long as a part of our Primrose Family!
