Van Hits Gwinnett County School Bus

SUWANEE, GA — A van hit a Gwinnett County school bus with 14 students on board Wednesday afternoon, school officials said.

The wreck happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Meadow Church Road.

The Ford van struck the bus on the driver's side. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries was unclear, said Gwinnett County Public Schools spokeswoman Sloan Roach.

All 14 students on the bus, from Peachtree Ridge High School, were checked out and were uninjured. They were put on another bus and taken home, Roach said.

The van's driver has been charged with following too closely, a Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman said.
