Wednesday Fire Damages Lawrenceville Home
There was extensive damage to the home, but almost all of it was in the home's interior, fire officials said.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A fire late Wednesday morning caused extensive damage to a home in Lawerenceville, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded at 11:38 a.m. to a report from a neighbor of a house fire in the 700 block of Garden Grove Drive Lawrenceville. The caller to 911 reported smoke coming from the house and didn’t believe anyone was at home.
Crews found heavy smoke showing from the second floor and attic of the two-story, wood-frame house.

Firefighters made immediate entry to extinguish the fire and conduct a primary search for possible victims. There was no one found inside the house and no injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control by 12:02 p.m.

Flames spread via the wall and floor system and caused extensive damage inside the home, said Gwinnett Fire & Emergency Services spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge.
The exact cause of the fire remained undetermined and was under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
The majority of fire damage is on the interior and is not immediately visible from the street.
