What Are The Best Elementary Schools In Gwinnett County?

Niche.com ranked two Gwinnett schools in the state's Top 30 and many in its Top 100.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Two schools in Gwinnett County made the Top 30 in Niche.com's newly released ranking of the best 100 elementary schools in Georgia.

The 2017 rankings were based on U.S. Department of Education data along with reviews from millions of parent and students.

Buford Academy, part of the Buford City Schools system, came in at No. 10 on the list, while Gwin Oaks Elementary School, in Lawrenceville, was ranked No. 28.

Niche.com is a data-compiling website that analyzes reams of information on educational choices available to students. The findings give parents and faculty a comprehensive look at schools and the neighborhoods around them.

The top two finishers were far from the only schools in Gwinnett that made Niche's list.

M.H. Mason Elementary School in Duluth was ranked No. 35, Camp Creek Elementary School in Lilburn was No. 38, Simpson Elementary School in Peachtree Corners was No. 40 and New Life Academy of Excellence in Duluth was No. 41.

Also, Craig Elementary School in Lawrenceville ranked No. 44, Head Elementary School in Lilburn finished No. 46, Brookwood Elementary School in Snellville was No. 47, Parsons Elementary School in Suwanee was No. 49, Riverside Elementary School in Suwanee was No. 50, Suwanee Elementary School was No. 56, Findley Oaks Elementary School in Duluth was No. 60, Chattahoochee Elementary School in Duluth ranked No. 67 and Sugar Hill Elementary School was No. 73.

Trip Elementary School in Grayson ranked No. 75, Abbotts Hill Elementary School in Duluth was No. 78, Harris Elementary in Duluth was No. 79, Fort Daniel Elementary School in Dacula came in at No. 81, Wilson Creek Elementary School in Duluth was No. 83, Freeman's Mill Elementary School in Lawrenceville ranked No. 86, Harbins Elementary School in Dacula was No. 87, Level Creek Elementary School in Suwanee was No. 91, Taylor Elementary School in Lawrenceville was No. 95, Ivy Creek Elementary School in Buford was No. 97 and Pharr Elementary School, in Snellville, rounded out the list at No. 100.

Criteria for the rankings included test scores, culture and diversity, teacher quality, student-teacher ratio, grade school ratings and school district quality.

More than 48,600 public elementary schools around the country were assessed in the rankings.
