What's Open, Closed in Gwinnett County on Columbus Day 2016

County government offices and schools are closed Monday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Columbus Day is an odd holiday, in that some of your usual holiday closings happen, and some don't.

Here's a brief rundown of what's open, and what's not, in Gwinnett County.

Government offices

It's a federal holiday, so federal, state and local government offices will be closed.

Schools

Monday is a teacher work day for Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Libraries

Monday is a staff in-service day. All library branches will be closed.

Post offices

There will be no mail delivery Monday, and post office branches will be closed.

Banks

Most banks will be closed for Columbus Day, though you may find some exceptions. Wells Fargo banks will be open, though some services will be limited.

Grocery and retail stores

Most retailers, including grocery stores, will be open normal hours on Monday.

Transit services

Gwinnett County Transit will be in operation on Monday.
