Spanish: Kindergarteners receive daily Mucho Mundo® Spanish instruction that immerse students in the culture, customs and songs.
Math: The Big Ideas Math® program introduces counting, measuring, geometry and patterning. Kindergarteners learn problem-solving strategies and how math applies to their everyday lives as they play and explore.
Language and Literacy: With the Benchmark Literacy® program,Kindergarteners learn and practice foundation skills, such as phonics, word student, fluency and comprehension.Literacy skills are introduced during classroom read-aloud time, and then built upon through teacher-directed small groups.
Writing Workshop: Kindergarteners learn the art of the “process writing,” including the pre-writing phase and the writing phase, as well as how to write various types of texts.
Project Time:Through small and large groups, Kindergarteners engage in experiences each day focusing on a specific project in science, art, social studies, or character development and life skills.
Differentiated Instruction: During daily small group literacy and mathematics instructional times, teachers provide instruction and practice at the Kindergarteners’ level of readiness.
