Woman Shoots Self In Gwinnett Court Parking Lot

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A 27-year-old woman shot herself Tuesday morning in the parking lot of a Gwinnett County courthouse, authorities said.

Lawrenceville Police say they are trying to determine whether the shooting was, in fact, accidental or intentional. The woman, from Greensboro, Ga., told responding officers that it was an accident, according to police spokesman Capt. Jeff Smith.

The shooting was reported to police at about 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday. It happened outside the Gwinnett County Recorder's Court building, at 115 Stone Mountain St.

No charges were filed in the shooting. The woman's condition was unavailable Tuesday afternoon.
