Card Fraudulently Charged Only at Gas Stations

Inside the Police Reports: A couple claims their debit card was charged $745.55 in five days.

A couple claimed their debit card was fraudulently used at numerous gas stations in five days, resulting in at least $745.55 taken from their account.

According to the police report, the 53-year-old husband met with Gwinnett County police in Lilburn after his wife noticed the charges online.

The couple produced a copy of their bank statement, which showed fourteen fraudulent charges dating from Nov. 25 to Nov. 29. The statement includes four separate charges to Quik Trip #766 in the amounts of $97.90, $97.64, $97.68 and $97.63, says the report. According to Mapquest, the QT location is in Dacula.

Charges in similar amounts were also made to Marathon, Chevron, Sunoco and Murphy Gas.

The husband told police that they only have one debit card associated with the account, and it's in his wife's possession at all times.

Since it was the weekend, the couple said they were not able to contact their bank to report the charges until the following Monday.
