The Conservation Committee of the Philadelphia Winn Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution announces it will join in with other volunteers at the Mill Creek Nature Center Earth Day Celebration in Buford, 8-12 am, Saturday, April 20, 2013.
The celebration is open to the public. Help with stream cleanup, restoration, or simply enjoy a guided nature walk. The Georgia Wildlife Federation owns and manages the eighty-eight acre wetland and wildlife preserve. It advises visitors to park at the Georgia Mall parking lot nearest the intersection of Mall of Georgia Boulevard and Nature Center Parkway. Cross the street and look for the MCNC banner.
It won’t be all work and no play, according to Pam Lyle, the chapter’s Conservation Committee Chair. “Kelly Floress and Karen Theodorou will lead the morning bird walk,” she says. Children will enjoy supervised crafts at the amphitheater.
